Only 1 week till camp starts. I am so excited, i can not contain it. I have spent the last 2-3 weeks i can even remember how long i’ve been home since graduation there. I have been busy helping getting stuff ready for the summer staff when they arrive on the 6th. And also getting ready for my Leaders In Training (LITs) this summer. I am so excited to be counseling these young adults and to top it my partner is a pretty solid guy and a great friend so that really helps. I’m slightly nervous about meeting the new staff but i know it will be great, challenging but so great. God is so wonderful and Amazing its just so great to be doing something that will honor Him when its all said and done. This place is my home, it is where i belong and i am so happy to be here. In the fall i will be living there and working part time and i can not wait to be apart of the community and all the love that they have there. I am super ready for the kids to come and just hang out with them be there friend and a role model. AHHH i have been waiting for about 5 months now i am so ready. :)

Spent the most wonderful week(end) at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters. Its this legit camp in the sticks of North Carolina. The people are so real and honest there and just love what they do. No fronts about it. After driving 6 hours to get there we got to hang out with some of the staff and just talk and with it being a Christian Camp we had a time of just being immersed in the bible. Which was fantastic, nothing like being in Gods creation with no distractions reading His word. After getting some solid small group time, we split even further into girls and guys and just really got to find out about each others lives and learn about God’s ultimate Sovereignty. That night we got to go on a 3-man swing in the dark which was a lot of fun. And sometimes its just so nice to do things and not think about the real world, like being a kid all over again. The next morning we played paintball for a couple of hours and that was just so great nothing like getting shot at, at close range. That afternoon we went white water rafting which for me was the best time. High of 79 degrees, going down a river which was about 45 degrees. Got to swim in the water which was freezing. But got to experience something that i’ve wanted to do for years. 8 Miles and 3 hours later we were frozen and heading back. That night we started a fire and just got to chat with each other. And the great thing is I had “known” alot of these guys since freshman year because we are the same major. But really got to know some of them and broke barriers and washed the sterotypes that had been made about each other away. The last full day we got up and learned some rope knots learned to belay. I know how to belay since i work at a camp, but i learned a different way. Which will totally help me if i ever want to do it that way. Learned 3 new knots which i got the hang of real quick. And then we went ziplining and skeet shooting and got to shoot my first pistol. Then played Ultimate which really was a blast. To end the night had another fire and made “super smores” Its just a smore with a Reese’s Cup instead of regualr chocolate. One of the best trips of my college career. Made some good friends, and really just learned more about Christ. Totally wish i was there right now instead of class. Never thought a weekend class would make me evaluate my relationship with Christ so much and allow me to have as much fun!
